儘管本季腳傷復出僅打6戰又告「報銷」，但洛杉磯湖人的天王球星「黑曼巴」布萊恩(Kobe Bryant)的歷史定位，及便在當代超級球星眼中，依舊是難以撼動。奧克拉荷馬雷霆的「雷帝」杜蘭特(Kevin Durant)便表示，「布萊恩是史上最偉大的球員，甚至能和籃球大帝喬丹(Michael Jordan)齊名。」

14日雷霆主場迎戰湖人，即便紫金軍團少了頭號大將布萊恩，杜蘭特對於這位前輩的推崇可一點都沒少。

「他(布萊恩)是史上最偉大的球員，他和喬丹在技巧上完全是不相上下。布萊恩絕對是史上前2強的選手，有腳步，三分投射、跳投、低位單打，甚至在對手頭上爆扣，還有持球技巧，布萊恩和喬丹絕對是最棒的。」

從問鼎本季「年度MVP」呼聲最高的杜蘭特口中說出，相信布萊恩在杜蘭特的眼中，絕對是極具份量的前輩及效法楷模。

本季正式宣告報銷後，8月份將正式屆滿36歲的「黑曼巴」是否還能帶領湖人再創高峰，不僅僅是球迷，或許眾家球星也正引頸期盼著。

布萊恩本季年薪達3045萬美金，超過台幣9.2億，即便下個賽季年薪「降」到2350萬美金，對於現今的湖人團隊來說，如果無法找來足以左右戰局的大牌球星助威，想再衝擊總冠軍的機率可說微乎其微。
