美CAS：通用安全氣囊失效車禍釀303死

美國消費者保護團體汽車安全中心（CAS）13日發布報告指出，交通安全主管機關已追蹤到303人車禍死亡，和通用新近召修車款的安全氣囊未能及時打開有關。

通用已成為美國主管機關多起調查的對象，因該公司過慢宣布召修早知引擎點火開關有問題的車款。通用2005至2007年雪佛蘭（Chevrolet）Cobalt，和2003至2007年釷星（Saturn）Ion車款的點火開關有瑕疵，與31起車禍導致12人喪生有關。

CAS發表的調查報告，是委託佛萊曼研究公司（FriedmanResearch）檢視2003年至2012年間通用汽車安全氣囊失效的問題，但佛萊曼未嘗試評估導致撞車的原因為何。

CAS寫信給美國國家公路交通安全管理局（NHTSA），批評該機關未察覺安全氣囊失效和點火開關有瑕疵。

通用則指出，「未經嚴密分析而嘗試獲致有意義的結論，也只是臆測而已」。
