蔡英文：參選不是要否定任何人

前民進黨主席蔡英文要參選下一屆民進黨主席，她表示，她的參選不是要否定任何人，是要讓台灣人民再一次相信政黨，再一次讓他們把對國家、社會、家庭，與自己的希望放在民主政黨上面。民進黨必須踏出那一步，勇敢轉型與蛻變。

蔡英文以「未來性、包容力、行動力」詮釋她帶領民進黨重返執政的三目標，她說，很多人認為，她的參選聲明會從兩年前總統大選開票那晚開始講起。但民進黨及整個台灣社會，都需要往前跨出那一步。「時代變了，我們所處的環境也變了，如果堅持活在過去，只會被世界淘汰。」蔡英文說，民進黨必須與時俱進，讓黨所追求的目標，所堅持的基本價值，所制訂的政策路線，能夠跟上時代潮流，回應廣大民意，成為引領趨勢，推動台灣正向改變，同時也必須引進培育新一代，也就是青壯世代人才，讓他們成為引領台灣改變的生力軍。
