征戰17載 關鍵先生決定退休

據美國《雅虎體育》的斯皮爾斯（Marc J. Spears）指出，2004年總決賽MVP、征戰聯盟長達17個賽季的畢拉普斯（Chauncey Billups）已經決定退休。

過去3個賽季，畢拉普斯缺席了185場比賽。

在活塞隊拒絕執行畢拉普斯第二年、也是最後一年合約（價值250萬美元）的球隊選項後，他已經成為完全自由球員。

這位曾經五次入選全明星賽的球星，曾有意跟詹姆斯（LeBron James）聯手，接受騎士試訓，他表示如果想要繼續生涯，仍有幾個機會擺在他面前。

「只是時間問題，我知道什麼時候合適，」畢拉普斯表示，「我的意志和渴望依然足夠強，但只是無法忽視一個事實，就是我已經3個賽季沒有保持健康了。我可以努力試一下，到一個自己認為可以的程度，但我只是無法延續下去。我不能以自己可以的方式來比賽，這時候你就知道這便是該決定的時間了。」

畢拉普斯最為人熟知的是他的活塞歲月，2002年到2008年效力於活塞期間，他贏得了「Mr.Big Shot」的美譽，2004年他帶領活塞奪得總冠軍。
