匯特生技進軍寵物市場

中國時報【洪凱音／台北報導】

興櫃生技股匯特 (6458)昨宣布，進軍寵物商機，因為旗下一款人工玻璃體，除搶攻20億美元的人用市場外，因專利範圍涵蓋動物用，將同步進軍寵物市場。

匯特總經理江滄炫表示，人工玻璃體是全球第1個視網膜剝離修復手術使用的水膠類產品，可用於寵物的視網膜剝離眼科醫療手術上，其優點是可避免矽油類替代物產生的乳化現像而影響視覺，更可彌補第2次手術移除的缺點，因為水膠類材質會在動物體內緩慢降解排除，對於飼主而言，將大大減少醫療支出。

在全球少子化與飼養寵物人口增加趨勢下，江滄炫認為，全球寵物醫療經濟規模驚人，對於生技產業，將是另一片新藍海。
