不是全壘打嗎！基特驚慌狂奔

Derek Jeter最後一次主場開幕戰，為洋基敲下勝利打點的Yangervis Solarte，聲稱「從小看Jeter打球，每天都從他身上學習。」但Jeter卻在這場比賽，有個搞笑的「錯誤示範」。

5局下Jeter擊出左外野強勁飛球，看似可能飛過全壘打牆，於是Jeter放慢腳步，打算享受「英雄跑壘」，等到球擊中全壘打牆，外野手準備回傳，Jeter這才發現不對，拔腿狂奔，驚險地趕在觸殺前，摸上二壘壘包。

「一開始我以為是紅不讓，後來我又以為會出界，」Jeter說，「等到左外野手處理球的時候，我才加速。有些隊友就這麼笑出來了。」

嘲笑隊長的是Mark Teixeira：「Jeter雖然40歲了，還是得滑壘的。」不知Teixeira是無心還是有意，Jeter要到6月才過40歲生日。

其實那記飛球，不只是Jeter「誤判」，就連電視台主播，也都以為會出牆。當時主播用激動的語調，叫著：「Jeter那球飛...打在全壘打牆上。」

Jeter驚險站上二壘後，Jacoby Ellsbury敲出安打，這回Jeter不敢慢慢來，全力衝回本壘。

「這是個很棒的一天，」Jeter說，「球迷一如往常地精神飽滿，讓我們球員充滿樂趣。去年我錯過這些，但有時得等到重回球場，才明白這一點。洋基球場的新球季開幕戰，總是十分特別。」
