田中將大首局就挨陽春砲，但全場只失這1分，第9勝到手。

田中將大在主場迎戰運動家，雖在首局被轟出陽春砲，最後先發6局被掃出5支安打，只失掉這1分，靠著隊友賈納(Brett Gardner)在三局擊出超前分的陽春全壘打，洋基以2：1險勝，田中以優質先發拿下第9勝。

賽前連續39局沒被敲全壘打的田中，一局上在1人出局情況，就讓運動家第2棒的捕手傑索(John Jaso)轟出右外野方向的陽春砲，先馳得點。

不過「神之子」很快就招喚隊友的火力支援，索利安諾(Alfonso Soriano)先在2局下二壘有人時，擊出中間方向的穿越安打，送回追平分；3局下洋基賈納(Brett Gardner)轟出右外野的陽春砲，超前比數，洋基也靠著這1分一路領先到比賽結束。

田中將大主投6局只失一分，被敲出5支安打，出現1次保送，三振4次，共用104球退場，在3名牛棚投手幫忙守成下，拿下六月首勝與本季第9勝。
