菲律賓選股績效居冠的分析師表示，菲律賓股市創至少1999年來外資連續流入的最長紀錄，顯示外資對菲律賓的經濟成長有信心。

外資在6日連續第26天淨買超菲律賓股市，在這段期間新增5.718億美元的持股，更創彭博資訊自1999年3月開始彙編資料以來資金連續流入最長紀錄。證券銀行公司投資長雷耶司（Noel Reyes）表示，只要菲律賓的經濟成長率維持在接近7%，外資的活水可望推動股市續漲。

菲律賓為東南亞第五大經濟體，過去兩年經濟創1950年代來最強勁成長，原因是菲國央行將利率維持在歷史低檔，2月出口勁增24%優於預期。菲股指數從去年8月的低點迄今上漲18%，接近進入多頭市場的20%漲幅門檻。
