關於設計工程費用付款問題請益

Dear 各位大大好

小弟家目前正在裝潢中，因有委託設計師設計，
施工部分由設計師加上我自己的工班(老婆家裡會泥作及衛浴電器等等)。

當初與設計師簽訂合約付款分為三期，總金額的40%、50%、10%付款，
在經過初階拆除、泥作等工程完成後目前已經開始施作木作工程也預計要付第二筆款項，
但工程進行中有部分是減少施作的部分(例如防護工程沒有預計的使用量、舖木板地板因拆除後確定不用額外墊一層底板、水電工程減少等等)，

這些減少的費用請問會在第二期工程款前就與設計師確定及計算修正第二期付款的金額or
會依照合約上面的金額付款最後在退款??

因為金額不小如果照第二期合約付款金額變成超過總實際施工金額，尾款等於在第二期就付掉了(還要設計師退款)。

因為設計師有收設計費外還有收監工費(工程款10%)，實際施作的費用也有影響這部分的費用。
請問這樣要怎麼跟設計師確認呢?
