吳敦義周六訪教廷

教廷廿七日將舉行前教宗若望廿三世及若望保祿二世的封聖儀式，馬總統指派副總統吳敦義為特使，周六將出訪教廷參加封聖典禮。馬總統特別請國內畫家梁丹丰畫了一幅現任教宗方濟各的肖像，由吳敦義致贈教宗。

由於教廷希望代表團能精簡，所以只有吳敦義夫婦、外交部次長史亞平等廿人參與特使團，沒有媒體隨訪。此行是否有機會跟教宗見面？史亞平說，尊重教廷的安排。

史亞平表示，副總統這次率團，是繼馬總統去年出席方濟各就職典禮後，再度彰顯中華民國與教廷間友好邦誼。吳敦義是我國第三位訪問教廷的副總統，之前連戰和呂秀蓮也出訪過教廷。
