【時報記者莊丙農台北報導】WitsView的觀察，2014年Chromebook的滲透率可望提升至3%-4%。WitsView研究副理陳虹燕表示，「Chromebook的三大優勢在於，耕耘教育市場等於培養未來的消費者；對企業來說，其資料安全與即時同步的特性占據優勢；對一般消費者來說，買Chromebook經濟負擔較小。」

Chromebook的滲透力來自各種軟性競爭力，首先是Google提供的服務深入生活，使用者愈依賴Google的服務就意謂著對Chromebook的進入障礙愈低。此外， NB主要品牌都接連投入開發，銷售通路增加提升能見度與產品選擇性。最後，除了免費的雲端儲存空間之外，4G版本則提供固定資料量的免費傳輸服務。再加上平易進人的價格適合教育以及中小企業市場。

Chromebook的弱勢在於需大量倚賴網路環境以及大眾對Google文書處理程式熟悉度不佳，但對Microsoft來說確實已造成威脅。
