搖滾傳奇樂手尼爾‧楊（Neil Young）宣布，將透過群眾籌資網站Kickstarter籌資，推出音樂服務PonoMusic以及高品質數位音樂播放器PonoPlayer。

根據11日的聲明內容，Kickstarter的宣傳活動將於15日展開，貢獻資金的人將可預定一台PonoPlayer音樂播放器。

在音樂產業轉向MP3格式後，尼爾‧楊對數位錄音的品質大感不滿，因而催生上述計畫。曾兩度入選搖滾名人堂的尼爾‧楊在2012年1月時表示，他曾與蘋果創辦人賈伯斯合作，開發高保真度的音樂服務，但蘋果後來放棄該計畫。尼爾‧楊當年稍後向12名投資人籌得50萬美元創投資金，開發Pono系統。

PonoPlayer是三角錐，售價399美元，其128GB的記憶體足以容納高達2,000張專輯。線上音樂商店PonoMusic.com也將販售主流與獨立專輯。
