應材與東京威力合併獲股東同意

應用材料( (US-AMAT) )今(24)日宣佈，股東們已同意所提出與東京威力的合併案，總計99%股份投票數同意採行雙方於2013年9月24日修訂的企業合併協議，相當於截至2014年5月9日為止股東會紀錄流通在外公司普通股股份總數78%比重。

應材總裁暨執行長蓋瑞‧狄克森(Gary Dickerson)表示，今日這項有力的支持充分強調，雙方合併可為股東們帶來價值，合併案可加速突破性產品發展，有利更好、更快、成本更低解決客戶問題。

應用材料與東京威力公司正協力為半導體與顯示器產業，共創嶄新全球性創新企業，這項合併金將帶來互補性技術與產品，為精密材料工程與圖形技術開創更大的版圖。

應材指出，這項企業合併案完成，將依照企業合併協議中依通常的條款，包括在不同國家監管機構的審核，應材預計將今年下半年完成交易。
