巴基斯坦官員表示，巴基斯坦南部大城喀拉蚩(Karachi)的一處機場，專供VIP貴賓及貨運航班使用的航廈，8日晚間遭到槍手突襲，造成至少5人死亡。
這起發生在吉納赫國際機場(Jinnah International Airport)的攻擊事件，直到今天(9日)凌晨還在持續中，即使在航廈外也能聽到槍聲。
國營的巴基斯坦國際航空公司(Pakistan International Airlines)發言人塔吉瓦(Mashhood Tajwar)說，機場內的旅客人身安全。在他做出這項聲明之際，機場傳出巨大的爆炸聲。
塔吉瓦表示，至少有2架國內班機已經轉向，而機場內的所有航班都已經暫停。
據指出，已有5具遺體從機場被送往吉納赫醫院，還有1人受傷。
